New place New lesson

Having kids is such a blessing. ❤️ But let's be honest—it also comes with a lot of experiments, trial and error, and plenty of emotional ups and downs... especially when your child is 14. Some days you have to stay calm and let things go. Other days you have to stand your ground. Parenting really doesn't come with a manual. Avyaya is an amazing kid—calm, sorted, and mature for his age. But like every teenager, he's going through so many changes, both physically and emotionally. A few weeks ago, he got admission into a new school. As parents, we had all sorts of worries. We thought he'd be upset about leaving his old friends, miss them terribly, maybe even resist going to the new school. But to our surprise... none of that happened. Yes, he misses his old friends. But he also looked forward to making new ones—and that's exactly what he did. A few days ago, I watched something from my window that I'll never forget. He saw a group of boys playing football and walked up to them, asking if he could join. The first boy he approached simply ignored him. As a mother, my heart sank. I saw Avyaya standing there for a few seconds, hands on his waist, quietly watching them play. Then, instead of walking away, he walked up to another boy and asked again. This time, the answer was, "Sure, come play." They all played together for almost an hour. Today, they play together almost every day. When he came home, I asked him what had happened. He casually told me the whole story as if it wasn't even worth thinking about. I was still upset about the first boy's behavior. But Avyaya wasn't. He had already filtered out the negativity and moved on. That day, my 14-year-old taught me something. Not everyone will welcome you. Not everyone will be kind. But you don't have to carry every rejection with you. Filter your thoughts. Filter the negativity. Filter the people who don't value you. Because your peace is far more important than someone else's opinion. Today, I'm not just proud of the friends Avyaya is making. I'm proud of the person he is becoming. ❤️
