First Day of School

so now my little Avyaya is big enough to start schooling. Today is the first day of his school. last two days we are preparing him for his first day. We bought this school bag,water bottle and lunch box. he was very excited to see all his belongings.he knew its all for his school. we asked him "do you want to go to school?" he readily says "yes". I guess more than him ,we were super excited. we as in avyaya's aapoo and nanima, his dadi,his badi dadi(my dadi),me and my husband. we celebrated this new phase in avyayas life and so in ours.
today I packed his lunch box, felt so grown up today. :) .dressed him up and then the cab came. my husband came from office too. he sat in the cab,gave us flying kiss and then went to school. we wanted to see how he reacts once he reaches the school ,so me and Krish went to his school. we reached before them. we saw him in the cab and how obediently he got down from his cab and went inside holding cab driver's hand. there were so many other parents like us who came to drop their kids. well... we went inside to sede if he is crying. but the door was closed but every once in a while the door would and we would peep inside. see his standing near the blackboard with bag on his shoulders staring in amazement at kids who were crying . 'why are they crying? what for?' must be wondersing. I still cant forget thje look on his face. eyes wide opened so is mouth and cheeks red. awww... very cute..

he came back at 3pm ..o god!!! so late. but he was happy and excited . he came back and had food then slept.
now its over a week. and i feel  he is adjusting quiet nicely. i was worried how will he cope up. but he is doing pretty good.

Little Avyaya wants to play :)

Lately Avyaya has started going downstairs to play with fellow kids. Amongst them one is Marcus who is 5 months younger than Avyaya and he is also Avyaya's play buddy. They Are very young  doesn't understand each other's language but yet they play together.  As Avyaya has fetish for cars which he calls  peepee, he will run away from the playing compound towards the car park and will touch each n every car parked. We literally have to drag hi back into the compound only to run back after him towards the parking area.  He would not ride the bicycle in an open area which he does in the enclosed area of our home. He will not play with ball, he will not play with peepee. He will only go and see the cars and jeeps parked outside .
Couple of days back , Avyaya was invited in Marcus' bday party. I was wondering how is he going to react, what will he do... So many ifs and what's and whys .. But when we went there I realized my little boy loves to be in the crowd ,enjoys the company of other kids and also attire same time he would play alone totally engrossed in whatever he is doing. He will not hog on cakes and pastries and juices. He would wait for me to give it to him.  His actions made me proud. All thanks to god. Nothing is my doing.

Avyaya's first trip to Tanzania

On 21st may 2014 , Avyaya and myself started from muscat to Tanzania . It's almost 7hours journey . I was paranoid as in, how will I manage my 2 years old super naughty son. I tried searching through net and also asked my friends and family members who had the experience of travelling with the toddlers.  I got some brilliant ideas. For example:-

Download some videos for your kid to watch while in the plane.

Take an empty bottle and 2-3 strips of stickers. Once in the plane , give them to the kid. It will keep him occupied for some time.

When air hostess starts serving drinks ask for an extra disposable glass , ice cubes and straws. Mostly the ice cubes have a whole in it so kids love to put the straw in it and pull .

Wrap small toys in a appear seperately like a gift. And give them to your kid one at a time. He will open the wrapper and play with the toy.opening the wrapper is fun game .

Take pencil colours or crayons along with asketch book.

These are few ideas I gathered. But I could use none. Thanks to the almighty! Avyaya was very well behaved and quiet the whole time.

He played with his toy cars and ate chips. Slept for an hour. And then played again.

2nd birthday of my little one.

Yesterday was Avyaya's second birthday . Since morning we were all busy with the preparations. We decided to have hawan In the morning so I made poori aaloo tamatar sa I and paneer matar . While kk went to the market and bought kk some decorating stuff and of course a peepee for Avyaya as a birthday gift. Around 11.45-12.00 noon pandit ji came with all the pooja samigri.by that time I was ready and so was Avyaya in his new yellow Tshirts n blue knickers.pooja hawan went very well. Avyaya took part in it as well. And was giving aahuti like we did. By two the pooja was over and offered lunch to pandit ji which he accepted. After lunch we all went to sleep and got up at 5 pm. Avyaya was still asleep and I decorated the room . Then Avyaya got up he played for a while. Then I bathe him and got him dressed for cake cutting. Our friends came with a big  peepee . Avyaya was very happy. He blew the candles , cut the cake and we all relished. Then all of us went to Begums . Where we had already booked the table. Avyaya was enjoying the day, I guess somehow he knew something special is there. :)
I taught him to answer if any one asks him how old are you? He will show index fingers of both the hands and say ...twooooo.

Eating, skype , playing sleeping! :)

Now that I overcame my sadness which caused due to Avyaya's refusal to take my feed, I am so relieved to see him hugging me and sleeping.  The connection which I missed for couple of days has been restored , successfully !! ( missing connection! My assumption only!!) .  I did face a bit of problem for couple of days as Avyaya takes so much time to sleep. He wants his toy car, his ball and
his teddy bear with him. Though these things easily gets unnoticed and forgotten if not kept in the room. Out of sight out of mind !!!!
He is also learning to eat on his own, with spoon, by hand and with fork. His coordination is picking
up. Yesterday we ordered chicken ceaser salad which had lettuce leaves in it. I was astonished to see him poking the fork in the salad and picking it up still stuck in the fork and putting it in his mouth. Really!!!!!
If I say "I" he will complete it by saying "lub you". Lovely...isn't it?? He will get the iPad ,open the skype and say "nannni". Means, please call my nani (grandmother)I want to talk to her. We chat only on Saturdays and Sundays so at times it gets hard to make him understand that nani will come on
Saturday dear she is busy.
If he sees even the smallest of car picture. He will jump excitedly and say" peepee, peepee" even when we read newspaper he will search for the photo of a car and gets so happy if he sees one.
In the morning if he gets up before me , he will kiss me and hug me ... :) I wake up  overwhelmed with happiness.  After few months he will start going to play school and he will make new friends
there, I am so eager for that.

Self-weaning ??!!!

Well !! Today is 7 th February and being a Friday it was a weekly off here in muscat , Oman . So my husband , Avyaya and myself went to the beach which is just 5 minutes walk from our place.

Avyaya always likes playing in sand and water. Initially he was too scared to even go near the waves but now he will drag me into the water as well.... :o . 

We went out shopping in the afternoon and then had a nap later. Ordered Chinese for dinner and which even Avyaya liked. 

My major concern came later at night when I realized that Avyaya is not feeding on my milk . He did that last night also and in the afternoon too. He had the habit of sleeping while feeding my milk. Which he didn't since yesterday night. OH MY GOD!!!!! I asked my husband to bring a warm milk in avyaya's feeding bottle. Thankfully he had some milk and after a  bit of  crying he went off to sleep. Then I sat and searched the net. " toddler stopped breast feeding suddenly ". I got various answers.like, he might be suffering from illness, teething or have I reprimanded recently. Did I???

Or it could be self weaning thing. Meaning he won't be taking my milk .. Which is good in a way but I did feel a bit of connection lost. I missed his hug while feeding. Missed big time. But I think it's good for him. It was my concern as how will I make him stop taking my milk. I was worried. Hah!! And now that he is not taking I m still worried. Never satisfied!! Goodness!!. I am going to wait for couple of days more. Let's see.

This is also the sign that he is growing up. I am happy for that. God bless him. :)

Badhta bachcha

For the past few days he has developed new behaviors and mannerisms. Greetings and wishes were always there in "jai" now he will put his hand on his mouth and give a flying kiss. He does that a lot to his nana and nani when we do video chatting. 

Whenever we are sitting or I am changing his clothes I sing nursery rhymes. Now he loves them. He will say baba baaeee means plz sing baba blacksheep. And when I say " three bags full" he will try to show the number three with his fingers though he shows all five fingers. And when I say "one for the little boy" he will put his hand on his head. Johnny johny is his another favorite rhyme "open your mouth" he will open his mouth wide. Lol.

Recently he was suffering from cold. So I used to wipe his running nose with a paper tissue. So now he would ask for the tissue "daa"(give) and when I give it to him he will wipe his nose and his hands with it and throw the used tissue in the dustbin.  One day I was having tea and I spilled a bit he ran and got me a towel to wipe it. His dad came out after washing his face he was standing with a towel in his hand.if he will spill water he will wipe it immediately. He is growing up so fast. God bless him.

He tries to eat with spoon and by gods grace the coordination is good. Spills very little. 

Love watching him the whole day. :)

"Happy Noe Eer" :)

That's what Avyaya wished everyone on New Years with his Bhangra mixed dance. He has developed his communication skill quiet well. I pray to baba to shower his blessings on him always. :) 

His dad bought  2 small cars one in red and other one in yellow. When he bought it that time Avyaya was too young and threw the cars away. Now he understands what is it. His  "pipi". He will always carry it in his hands while playing of course, also while eating and sitting and at times while sleeping. Set of planes gifted to him by his nana nani is the other fetish he has. "Peene" that's what he calls them.

Recently I have noticed that he has developed the habit of making cans standing vertically on top of each other. He will open the "peedge" (fridge) and take out the small cans of sodas and use them as blocks to elevate them perpendicularly. Now I am thinking of buying him a set of blocks with the pictures on it so that he can play with them instead of denting soda cans. 

Everyday I see him growing up and learning something new. It's so much fun. 

Dubai trip day-3

Ferrari world was so extremely impressive and very tiring . This was something really new that I have ever seen in my life. 

Today is  our third day of the trip. We decided to go to Dubai mall which is a huge shopping arena with the end number of shops. Designers showrooms, apparels, shoes, cosmetics, toys ,books and what not.. It's a shoppers paradise. And in the amidst there is an aquarium and an underwater zoo. Its so huge. It's like you are walking through a tunnel under the sea with so many varieties of fishes. You can see huge shark going across your head. Beautiful tiny fishes swimming all around you.  So we decided to take Avyaya in that aquarium. All this time while we were roaming in the mall ,he was sitting in his pram and he was becoming restless to get down and run. We made him stand and tried to show him the aquarium , initially he was running here and there ,up and down, didn't know where to go Ashe was too happy to be freed from his pram. Then he realized the new world around him. I thought he will be scared by looking at the ferocious looking shark with its teeth pointed outside. But no!! To my surprise he was clapping and tried to follow the shark. Started running after it. Of all the beautiful, tiny fishes in it he liked shark :o 

 Then we had to make him sit in his pram again. We showed him around and rather than looking at the new creatures in the zoo he was busy looking at the pretty teenagers . Bah! Finally we came out of the aquarium and had our lunch in the mall.

In the evening we were invited to a friend's place. I was so worried that he will be super naughty and what will they think. But when we reached there. He did 'jai' to the couple and also gave a peck to the hostess. Cute!!. They were also very kind enough to give him their cell to play with. The evening went quiet well. We had our dinner and Avyaya was fed by the hostess. He really enjoyed it.  Well! Then we returned and Avyaya went off to sleep in the car itself . When we reached the room I had to change his clothes while he was sleeping.  My little fellow got so tired today. :)

Dubai trip day-2

We were so tired the day before that we all got up at 9 am . Including Avyaya who usually gets up twice or thrice at night but today he dint as he was so tired. We had planned to go to Ferrari world in Abu Dhabi which is approximately 2 hours drive from Dubai . We had our breakfast in a restaurant and started towards Abu Dhabi. 

Ferrari work is awesome. I was slightly skeptical about going there as I thought I will not like it much there since I am not very fond of cars and their makes. But this was so different from what I had imagined . Avyaya enjoyed a lot there. Though he was not allowed to sit on any rides there as he is too young , I think he enjoyed more running up an down all around and climb on bench like small blue and white lighted pillars. He was so amazed to see ice skating ring. I bought one vanilla cone ice cream which he loved. He kept on holding my hand tightly all the while he was eating it not allowing me to move my hands the slightest. Whole dar we were touring the entire Ferrari world, not once did he cry or sleep. The best part for him was to sit on the Ferrari dummies and play with the steering wheel. Boys will be boys!! He was on it for more than half an hour and I had to drag him out of it. Phew!!

Then while returning we had our dinner and tea. Reached out hotel room. We were so tired but Avyaya started playing in the room. Finally we all settled and got lost in the world of ferraris in our dreams

Dubai trip day-1

On the 9th of December 2013, we started for our road journey to Dubai. Avyaya's baby seat had already been fixed a week before and he enjoyed sitting on it ( thankfully!! Because he hated it before ). The journey was fun as it's a nice weather here in muscat at this time of the year . Avyaya loved watching out of the window and on the way we saw camels which are rare species for Avyaya . This was his first introduction to Mr camel. When we entered Dubai his eyes opened the widest. In muscat we don't have sky-rise buildings and only brick cement houses , but here the buildings were all shining and glittering in the bright day light. The glasses were shimmering and reflecting glares. He was amazed. We reached our hotel and got a room on 6th floor. The first thing Avyaya did was to stand on the window and see the peepees on the road. Then to his amusement he saw plane flying really low, so big and loud. He clapped and waved byeeeeeeee!! 

After resting for a while we went to the Global Village. It is a fare kind of thing which has rides and beautiful stalls from all over the world. We were roaming from stall to stall with poor Avyaya tied to his pram. As he would run like an athlete if we make him walk. Or he would lie down on the floor and wriggle...... Aaah!! There was this Spanish stall where a girl was performing on a raised platform. Lovely music playing at the background. Avyaya was clapping and watching her so intensely that it seemed to me as if he is learning every step she is doing. Anyhow, we went through various stalls and at last had dinner at one of the food stalls. Avyaya also got one toy . And he was busy playing with it and also monitoring it. We came back to our hotel , tired and sleepy. Avyaya enjoyed a lot .  

Playtime!!!!!

Whenever we go out for shopping or dining or beach , Avyaya loves it. We see so many little children playing . Some of them are of Avyaya's age, some are older than him. Whatever the age is Avyaya will point and scream excitedly " baby baby " . Very cute. :) . He will go to little girls rather than boys.. He will hug the other kids  and give a big smile . He will communicate full fledged in his own baby language. The fun part usually is when the other kid also speaks the same language. And the conversation goes on and on. Do the toddlers understand each other's language!? I wonder!!

Once we went for a puja at one of our friend's place. There were kids of his age and also 3 or  4 years older ones as well. Avyaya chose to play with this baby girl who was few months older. And they were running all over the place. From one sofa to other to table and so on. They took one apple each and started eating. Neither of them looked at their parents. Then the older kids started playing and they took Avyaya with them. They were running in the corridor  making him run as well. I was worried that he might get tired and start crying so with that though I went out and so him happily running and with the kids and kicking ball as well. At dinner time I had to drag him to the table. The other kds insisted that aunty we will feed him here . Don't worry and all. Nice!! But my naughty one will keep on playing forgetting about the food.

It was a pleasant experience for me. As I was also happy and relieved to realize that Avyaya is a friendly kid and he doesn't need coaxing to mingle with other children. Where I stay, there are no children of his age. I think I should do something about it....

Gadget Freak!!

Avyaya is becoming gadget freak....... Like father like son!! He wants all the cellphones given to him..allllll . He knows where I hide the iPad . He will guide me from drawing to our room and will point at the cupboard's top most shelf, which he can only see from below. Mummy mummy mummy!! Bo!! If he is in a good mood then I am able to divert his mind from there and if he is in an okay mood then there is nothing in the world to divert his mind. Once I give him the iPad then this 19 months old will unlock it and switch on the camera and make different faces...  :) . 

At times , while we are watching tv suddenly the channel changes. Avyaya loves remote control as well. He is aware of the functionality of different remote controls. Which RC works for which device.  

Kids these days..... ,!!! In a way it's also good that he observes and implements . But I don't want him to sit with iPad or phone the entire day , I would rather want him to play ,hop, jump and etc. etc. physical activities is a must!!
