Summer Vacations Amidst Coronavirus

The summer vacations have begun. The only difference in the daily routine of Avyaya is that he no longer has to get up early for his E-classes and sit for 6 hours every weekday. Otherwise, everything else is the same. Lingering at home and playing with his brother or gadgets. It gets really challenging to keep your kid away from gizmos and make them sit and study during holidays. With no option of going out for playing or inviting friends at home or joining any summer camps during this time of the pandemic, we are left with sitting at home and using our time for something productive or learning something new. His Holidays Homework comprises reading of 7 books given by the school itself. Even though he is not an enthusiastic reader but a bit of coaxing is helping him to cultivate a reading habit. Last week he finished Mr Dog and the Rabbit Habit by Ben Fogle, this week he has started with Enid Blyton's The Caravan family. Enid Blyton has been my favourite author too. Apart from reading, he loves to paint. I am happy to see him giving a fair amount of time in these fruitful hobbies. The vacations really seem long this year. Hope this pandemic ends soon and we return to our normal routine.
